Doctor Who Scarf - Finished!

12" wide, and FOURTEEN AND TWO THIRDS FEET LONG. I tried it on for myself (and I'm only five feet tall!) and I looked absolutely ridiculous.

It was a lot of fun to make, though! I'm gonna make one for Fizzy too, though narrower and in single crochet. I did this one in half-double crochet and that's part of why it's so freaking long.

One Full Skein

september 25 (2)

In this case, of Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in Painted Desert coloring. The project is a nine-foot-long scarf and I wish I'd taken a picture after I finished, because it came out really well--and really big! A guy who was watching as I finished it said it wouldn't look out of place on an episode of Doctor Who. I wish!

Blue and Green Fillet Crochet Fashion Scarfc

I had fun with this one. Not only was the yarn combination just right to use my favorite hook (my trusty gray N-hook), but the colors are two of my favorites. :)

008

Wrapping it like that makes it bunch up less. Like training one's hair by braiding it when it's wet, it seems.

009

Unfortunately, I still only have myself as a model, though if she'll let me I'll rope my friend Carolyn into it. She's more photogenic.

040

I do like these, though. I felt almost pretty during this "shoot."

036

Until next time! :)

Blue and White Ruffle Scarf

So soft. This one was made with pale blue Caron SimplySoft yarn and white baby yarn.

This scarf, and all the other ruffle scarves, are made this way:

chain 143. Start dc-ing on the 4th ch from hook. dc all the way down the line, [dc2, ch2, dc2] on the last loop and then dc down the other side. Cap the other end the same way and slip stitch to make the rectangle. Then double treble crochet three times in each dc all the way down, [dc2, ch2, dc2] in the corner, 1 dtc in each dc on the skinny side, then [dc2, ch2, dc2], then dtc 3 times in each dc all the way around, capping the same way at the other end and finishing off and tucking in the ends.

It's sooooft.

Not that these two came out all that bad, though. :)
