These are fun to make, but they do take awhile. Crocheting hats take longer, but these knitted ones provide more warmth, in my experience.

I need to do more stripes.

I have a LOT of Lion Bran Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in blue, black and gray because back in the fall of '07, when Chris and I had first moved to Alaska, I made him a blanket as something to do to keep my hands busy. It turned out way too big and very heavy, and shortly before the move to New York, I took it apart so I could use that thick yarn, just right for my P hook (not N like I said in the last two posts, sorry!) and, clearly, the Knifty Knitters I've gotten since we got here. :)

While I was taking the blanket apart and rolling the yarn, I got to greet Fizzy with "my desk is overrun with balls." I just had to, yanno? I can be so twelve sometimes. :P

This one below isn't wool, it's Sensations...something or other, and I doubled up on the yarn to make the hat thicker. It's very comfortable, though I've only tried it on a couple of times since I intend to sell it.

More wool hats coming this way. :)

Beanie Kick, Continued.

The color scheme of this first one is my favorite. This one is more kid-sized, but if I have enough white Hometown USA yarn, I might make myself one.

This one was going to be for Fizzy, in Collingwood Magpies colors, but it came out rather too long, so I'm gonna make her another this one. This one'll wind up in the shop. :)

This one was just for fun. I really like working with the Hometown USA yarn, whether crochet or Knifty Knitter--one of these days I'll make something with it in real knitting.

This one I made long before I got either set of Knifty Knitter circles (just yesterday I got the "perfect for adult hats" ring loom, because of course they wouldn't sell it separately!), because I have so much Hometown USA yarn after taking apart Blankiezilla, since I'm making her a more reasonably sized Tetris blanket out of Caron SimplySoft.

I've been listening to lots of audiobooks and podcasts and making these. Yay for fun yarns to play with, and looms! (Not that I'll ever give up crochet. I just have a new shiny.)

I know, still needs the poofy thing at the top. I haven't found my poof-maker yet, and as you can tell from the last one, jury-rigging the poofs is not my strong suit. ;P

Again with the Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn. I took apart the Tetris Blanket and that's the yarn I've been using for these quick pieces.

Beanie - Gryffindor Colors

Well, it looks like Gryffindor colors when you're holding it in your hand. With the flash it looks like a Cheesy Poofs hat:

This side you can see some of the tie-offs on the side. I expect the next beanie--which will be medium stripes--to be better about visible tie-offs.

And here's me, modeling the hat. Unfortunately my camera is not good at sharp photos sans flash, which sucks for me because if I take a picture of myself using the flash, all you see is the big white spot on the mirror.

I love the rainbow pattern and it's not just the queer in me--though I'll definitely be making myself one to wear to Pride events once I get to New York!

Knifty Hat: Another One :)

Same Marble yarn as the Marble Beanie, but this time most of it is two-over-two instead of one-over one. I made a mistake towards the last...ten or fifteen rows, I think...and had to go one-over-one after that. It's another Big Hat like the Silly Hat, but I like it because the weather doesn't dictate whether or not I can wear a ponytail (because regular sized snow beanies are snug on me, especially when I have my hair up). If anyone else wants one, I have a variety of yarns (just check the Yarn Stash tag) and get back to me, and if it's not for another project I'll get started immediately. Otherwise, I'll get more of that yarn and start as soon as I get home. :)

Silly Hat! ;P

That would be the hat from the other day. I used leftover Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn from the Fizzy Blanket (aka Blankiezilla)...and it came out just a bit too big. ;)

And me wearing the silly hat. On the bright side, it's really warm, and the extra size means I can have a ponytail or messy-bun and I don't have to redo my hair (in addition to thermals, jeans, etc., that it takes to go outside when you're a Floridian in a place where it snows) just to go outside.

And since most of the yarn comes from Blankiezilla, it's like having a little bit of Fizzy with me. *is a tooootal sap*
